Where’s FuckedCompany.com when you need it?
In a press release announced on adobe.com, Adobe will be laying off roughly 600 full-time positions globally.
Adobe, a crucial partner in the realm of Apple, is not going to have a booth at Macworld this year.
In talking with some friends in larger companies, they have said that even though some companies don’t have to lay-off workers — it is a good environment to layoff workers.
What does that mean? Well given recent news of 9000 jobs disappearing from JP morgan, and even more jobs cut from Washington Mutual — 600 jobs doesn’t sound like much. If Adobe announced 600 job cuts in July 2008, we would have heard about it. Given the current economic crisis, Adobe can layoff 600 jobs and not hear that much about the “small” amount of layoffs.
Nevertheless, in a post on TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog), Adobe trimming Expo budget, 600 jobs, we can read that Adobe won’t have a booth at the Macworld expo. For as long as I can remember, Adobe has been a pivotal partner in software for Apple. The lack of presence at Macworld either says something about the expo itself, or Adobe. In this case I think it’s Adobe.
